Located on a second floor shop house is The Dose Coffee House. It’s quite easy to spot from the main road, but it’s mainly accessible by car. I’ve seeing lots of posts of their durian puree waffle, but sadly since it’s October and durian season is long gone, there were only strawberry and mango for fruit toppings.
The waffle prices here looked very reasonable in comparison to majority of the waffles at other places. Most cafes price their waffles at around RM 24 and above, but interestingly, these waffles start at RM 15.90 with no GST either. But also note, these waffles aren’t served with ice cream, instead, you get vanilla cream.
There’s also a breakfast option!
- Mango Waffle RM18.90
I’m a huge fan of sweet mango cubes. I would say, The Dose Coffee House is extremely generous with their fruit toppings. All the mango cubes were sweet, even without the provided syrup. Honestly, you don’t need the syrup. It’s more for aesthetics. The vanilla cream is so light and fluffy, imagine tasting air clouds that melt in your mouth with a lingering sweetness. YES! It’s that awesome. I also liked that the waffles were slightly crisp, though not the right texture I would determine as fantastic, but still overall decent.
2. Waffle Yaki RM18.90
So, for a main course, we decided to try an interesting Japanese inspired waffle. Egg mayo, topped with bonito flakes, takoyaki sauce and japanese mayo. A very delicious savoury waffle I must admit. The japanese mayo and takoyaki sauce, brought the waffle satisfaction level to an utmost high! Salty, creamy goodness atop of a crisp and airy waffle.
Overall : The Dose Coffee House offers a simple menu, with great executions. I didn’t get a chance to try their coffee, but everyone seemed to order one. Definitely try their mango waffle!
